Apple has confirmed its next event, the Awe Dropping Event, for September 9. The company is expected to unveil the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max, alongside new Apple Watch, AirPods, and possibly more devices. Along with hardware, Apple is also likely to announce rollout dates for iOS 26 and other operating systems.
iOS 26 rollout date: When to expectWell, we do not have an official rollout date as of now. But, we can expect the rollout to happen soon after the event. However, based on previous rollouts – iOS 18 and iOS 17, it is expected that iOS 26 may take a week or two for older devices including the iPhone 16 and others.
For instance, iOS 18 started rolling out on September 16, 2024 and iOS 17 rollout date is September 12, 2023. And, both years, the iPhone announcement happened on September 9.
This suggests that the iOS 26 rollout may happen within a week or two after the iPhone 17 series launch.
iOS 26: What to expectApple’s upcoming iOS 26 is expected to introduce several upgrades focused on intelligence, personalization, and security. The update may enhance Apple Intelligence AI tools for smarter writing and image generation, expand Siri’s capabilities with deeper contextual awareness, and bring refinements to widget interactivity across the home and lock screens. Improved privacy controls could give users more transparency over app data usage, while tighter integration with Apple devices is likely to boost cross-platform continuity. Together, these features aim to make iOS 26 more seamless, secure, and adaptive to everyday use.
