Huawei smartwatch with blood pressure monitoring expected to launch in India soon

Huawei is expected to launch a smartwatch with built-in blood pressure monitoring in India. The device could give the brand an edge over competitors, especially since Apple’s latest watches with hypertension tracking are yet to debut in India.

Huawei could be preparing to bring its next-generation smartwatch to India, with reports suggesting the wearable will arrive with built-in blood pressure monitoring. A teaser shared online carried the message, “Blood Pressure Monitoring on Your Wrist. Coming Soon,” which indicates that the company is positioning health tracking at the centre of its upcoming launch.

The inclusion of native blood pressure monitoring in a smartwatch is significant, especially in a market like India where hypertension often goes undiagnosed. While most wearables today already support ECG, heart rate tracking, sleep analysis, and pulse monitoring, blood pressure detection has been missing from the mainstream. For people who live with hypertension or are at risk of developing high blood pressure, this feature could make a major difference. It may also help those who are unaware of their condition identify potential health concerns earlier, allowing them to seek timely medical advice.

The development is also important from a competitive perspective. Apple recently introduced Hypertension Tracking and Notifications on the Apple Watch Series 11 and Apple Watch Ultra 3. These models reportedly received FDA clearance earlier this month, signalling that the technology is accurate enough to be medically relevant. However, Apple has yet to announce when these watches will officially launch in India. This opens an opportunity for Huawei to establish itself as an early mover in the Indian market with a smartwatch that brings similar capabilities.

If Huawei succeeds in launching its blood pressure-enabled smartwatch before Apple, it could appeal strongly to health-conscious buyers. India has a growing wearable segment where consumers are increasingly looking for features that go beyond basic step counting or heart rate monitoring. With hypertension becoming a more common issue due to lifestyle and stress factors, a wrist-based device capable of checking blood pressure could find significant demand.

As for the launch timeline, current leaks suggest that Huawei may be close to unveiling the product, although the company has not yet provided an official confirmation. Given the teaser campaign, the announcement could happen within the next few weeks. However, details such as the smartwatch’s pricing, specifications, and compatibility with Android and iOS platforms remain under wraps.

For now, Huawei’s upcoming smartwatch looks set to expand the role of wearables in preventive health. If the blood pressure monitoring feature works reliably, it could push the boundaries of how everyday devices contribute to health awareness. The Indian market will be watching closely to see whether Huawei can deliver on this promise before its rivals.
