Freshworks’ Chief Product Officer Prakash Ramamurthy resigns amid management rejig

Prakash Srinivasagopalan Ramamurthy, the Chief Product Officer (CPO) of Nasdaq-listed software firm Freshworks, has tendered his resignation. According to an SEC filing on August 14, Ramamurthy will assist the newly appointed Chief Executive Officer, Dennis Woodside, till October 1 to ensure a smooth transition.

“(Prakash) Srinivasagopalan Ramamurthy, Chief Product Officer of Freshworks Inc. (“Freshworks”), notified Freshworks of his resignation to pursue another professional opportunity. Mr Ramamurthy is working closely with Freshworks’ chief executive officer to ensure a smooth transition,” The SEC Filings said.

The firm had announced in an SEC filing on August 6 that its Chief Financial Officer, Tyler Sloat, will take up additional role as the company’s Chief Operating Officer. It has also hired Philippa Lawrence as the Chief Accounting Officer.

“The company’s current Chief Financial Officer, Tyler Sloat, who was previously serving as both principal financial officer and principal accounting officer, will continue serving as the Company’s principal financial officer. Additionally, due to the expansion of his responsibilities, the Board appointed Mr Sloat the additional role as the Company’s Chief Operating Officer,” the filing said.

There has been a slew of management changes within the SaaS firm over the past six to eight months.

In fact, the CPO's exit comes four months after the firm announced an internal rejig wherein, Girish Mathrubootham, who was the chief executive officer (CEO) had become the executive chairman of the company while Dennis Woodside became the CEO.

Pradeep Rathinam, the chief revenue officer (CRO) of Freshworks, also resigned from the firm earlier this year in February.

The firm appointed former Adobe and F5 executive Mika Yamamoto as its first chief customer and marketing officer (CCMO), last year. Freshworks also appointed Johanna Jackman as the new Chief People Officer (CPO).

The firm’s Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Shan Krishnaswamy left the company in September 2022 and the firm has not appointed a CTO till date.
