Global PC shipments grew by 1.3% year-on-year in Q3 2024, reaching 66.4 million units, according to a recent report by Canalys. This marks the fourth consecutive quarter of growth, primarily driven by increased notebook shipments. Desktop shipments, however, saw a decline.

Also, companies like HP, Asus and Lenovo saw growth in terms of PC shipment in the third quarter, while Apple Mac devices saw a decline. Notebook shipments, which include mobile workstations, rose by 2.8% to 53.5 million units. In contrast, desktop shipments, including desktop workstations, dropped 4.6% to 12.9 million units. The demand for commercial PCs is expected to rise as businesses aim to upgrade their systems before Windows 10 reaches its end of life in October 2025, according to the report. PC demands to grow in the next 12 monthsCanalys analysts project that PC demand will continue to grow over the next 12 months. A significant factor driving this growth is the need to upgrade to Windows 11. The launch of new AI-powered PC processors from Intel, AMD, and Qualcomm is also enhancing the appeal of replacing older PCs. While consumer demand remains modest, upcoming holiday promotions are anticipated to boost sales by year-end.Top 10 PC brands in terms of shipment
