The Infected in Among Us 3D

Social deduction game Among Us 3D will get a new zombified game mode called the ‘Infected Mode’. Developer InnerSloth showcased the new Among Us 3D game mode during the Future Games Show (FGS) Spring Showcase Live from Game Developers Conference 2025. The Infected mode will arrive on both PC and VR versions of Among Us 3D when the game launches.

In the Among Us 3D Infected mode, if you get caught, you won't be ejected out of the ship but instead become the food of The Infected who are zombified crewmates. What should one expect when the players who should have been eliminated don’t die but come back to chew you up? A faster, more panic-induced gameplay. With players turning into The Infected, it’s not just about sneaking around; you have to be quick to survive the threat of the infected crewmates.

Among Us 3D will introduce a first-person mode when it launches. The demo of the upcoming game was made available for free during the Steam Next Fest that ran from February 26 to March 4.

Among Us 3D features the Native Proximity Voice Chat option that allows you to talk with friends directly in-game. It will add new Among Us tasks with first-person controls. Among Us 3D will also be crossplay-compatible with Among Us VR but not with the classic Among Us game. If you are someone who loves to experiment with the look of your Among Us character, there is good news as you will get an “endless number of cosmetic customisation combinations” for items like hats, gloves and game avatar skins.
