Amazon has launched two new smart displays in India — the all-new Echo Show 11 and the fourth-generation Echo Show 8. Designed to be more than just smart screens, the new Echo Show devices combine a larger display, improved audio, and advanced sensors to make everyday tasks at home easier and more intuitive. From managing schedules and controlling smart home devices to streaming content and making video calls, the new Echo Show models aim to act as always-on home assistants that adapt to how users live. A big highlight this time is Omnisense technology, which allows the devices to respond automatically to presence, motion, and room temperature.

Price and availability

The Echo Show 11 is priced at Rs 26,999, while the Echo Show 8 comes in at Rs 23,999. Both smart displays are available in Graphite and Glacier White colour options. Customers can buy the devices online via Amazon.in and Flipkart, as well as from offline retail stores such as Reliance Digital and Croma across India.

Specs and features

The Echo Show 11 features an 11-inch full HD display, while the Echo Show 8 comes with an 8.7-inch HD screen. Both displays use edge-to-edge glass with thin bezels, giving them a clean, modern look and maximising the viewing area. The new design also includes a 3D-knit fabric finish, making the devices blend easily into living rooms, kitchens, or bedrooms. Ambient visuals automatically adjust based on lighting conditions to ensure comfortable viewing throughout the day.

At the heart of both devices is Amazon’s AZ3 Pro custom silicon, which powers Omnisense — a sensor platform built for what the company calls ambient AI. Using inputs from motion and presence sensors, temperature detection, ultrasound Wi-Fi radar, an accelerometer, Wi-Fi CSI, and a 13-megapixel camera, the devices can trigger automated routines without users needing to ask. For instance, compatible lights can turn on when someone enters a room, or a fan or air conditioner can switch on when the room gets too warm. These routines can be customised through the Alexa app.

Audio has also received a major upgrade. Both Echo Show 11 and Echo Show 8 feature front-firing stereo speakers paired with a custom woofer, delivering room-filling sound with spatial audio. The speakers are designed to push sound forward, resulting in clearer vocals and deeper bass. Users can stream music, podcasts, and audiobooks from services such as Amazon Music, Apple Music, Spotify, JioSaavn, and Audible.

For video calls, both devices include a 13MP camera with centred auto-framing and noise reduction, helping users stay clearly in view during calls. Entertainment options include streaming from Prime Video and Netflix, along with YouTube via the Silk browser. Users can also monitor their homes using the Drop In feature and view up to four live feeds from compatible security cameras or video doorbells on a single screen.

Amazon says the new Echo Show devices are built with multiple privacy controls, including physical microphone and camera off buttons, in-app privacy settings, and options to review and delete voice recordings. The Echo Show 11 and Echo Show 8 are also designed to be compatible with Alexa+, Amazon’s generative AI-powered assistant, once it becomes available in India.
