Earlier in the day, PTI had reported that India opener Yashasvi Jaiswal has chosen to leave Mumbai for Goa and the governing body of the Mumbai Cricket Association has granted the 23-year-old’s plea to leave the domestic team that helped shape him into the cricketer he is today.
But adding to that, another report surfaced that India's T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav is also contemplating the same move.

Not just that, the report also added that “rumour mills suggested that Suryakumar Yadav is actually playing the lead role in getting players to consider a move” from Mumbai to Goa.
Calling out the report on social media, SKY posted on his X handle: “Script writer hai ya journalist? Agar hasna hai toh I will stop watching comedy movies and start reading these articles. Ekdum bakwas”
The report is based on “inputs from sources close to Suryakumar Yadav,” rather than authentic reports.

The move by Jaiswal was reported by PTI and had authenticity to it and it also had confirmation of the move by an MCA official and also by Goa Cricket Association's secretary Shamba Desai.
“He (Jaiswal) wants to play for us and we welcome him. He will be playing for us from the next season,” PTI had quoted Desai.
It is not the first time in recent times that a news report from the same publication has been called out as fake by a prominent national cricketer.
In January earlier this year, India pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah had the same publication report as ‘fake news’ after it was reported that the star pacer is having bed rest at home.

“I know fake news is easy to spread but this made me laugh. Sources unreliable,” Bumrah had posted.

After this post, Bumrah went on to block the official X handle of the publication which claimed the news.
