MI Retention List 2026: Mumbai Indians had already been active in the trade market before the IPL retention deadline. On Saturday, the league announced that the five-time champions have traded bowling all-rounder Arjun Tendulkar to the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and have secured the return of leg-spinner Mayank Markande through a swap deal with the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).
After these trades and their list of released players, MI are left with a purse of only Rs 2.75 crore to go to the auction.
Arjun Tendulkar moves to LSG at his current contract value of Rs 30 lakh. The left-arm pacer, son of Sachin Tendulkar, was initially bought by MI in the 2021 auction and made his IPL debut for the franchise in 2023.
On the other hand, Markande is returning to Mumbai at the same price he was listed for at KKR — Rs 30 lakh. The leg-spinner started his IPL journey with MI, representing them in 2018, 2019, and 2022, and later, he played for Rajasthan Royals in 2021 and Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2023 and 2024. In his 37 IPL matches, he has taken 37 wickets.
