After‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ India’s thrilling win in the third ODI against Australia, an Australian fan tried to mock ex-Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin. However, the situation didn't remain the same for a long time as the fan realized an altogether different person he was talking to.

Even though Australia had already taken a 2-0 lead in the series, India’s overpowering show in Sydney was still a treat to their fans. Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli put together a 168-run partnership that led India to a successful chase of 237, winning by nine wickets.

Ravichandran Ashwin was on video-call outside the Sydney Cricket Ground with journalist Vimal Kumar when the incident happened. On the stream, an interruption was made by an Australian fan who taunted Ashwin with gestures mimicking ‘2-1, 2-1’. However, the prank did not work out in the fan's favor when he realized he was talking to a former cricket great.

The fan was so shocked by the revelation that he could not continue, and he left the place as quickly as he had come. Their playful exchange, which was short-lived, soon went viral with fans thoroughly enjoying the humorous ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍and respectful ‍‌moment.

After‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ the match, Ravichandran Ashwin on his YouTube channel praised Rohit Sharma for his incredible fitness and excellent performance, after the former India captain scored an unbeaten 121.

"What stuck out with Rohit, that he looked proper fit and lean. That is why he is able to get those runs and get going. Even while running with Gill, he wanted a third run, but Gill refused. The quality of batting is always there, but if you are fit, you lose weight, you are able to feel light, and skill will take over. Rohit is looking a million dollars. He is looking all set and poised. He (Rohit) has been one of your best white-ball batters over the decade or so," Ashwin said.

Ashwin pointed out that the main reason for Rohit to be able to play a long innings and also keep the running between the wickets is definitely because his better fitness compared to the past. We should remember that Rohit had concentrated a lot on his fitness before the Australia series. Abhishek Nayar said that Rohit had lost around 10–12 kgs ahead of the series.
