The Central Intelligence Agency of the United States on Wednesday released around 4.7 lakh files recovered during the raid carried out at Osama Bin Laden's compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan in 2011.

The US intelligence agency said that it had released the trove “in the interest of transparency and to enhance public understanding of al-Qaeda and (bin Laden).”

Osama Bin Laden’s personal journal had more than 18,000 files. There were approximately 79,000 audio and image files, which include practice reels for public speeches, audio correspondence, and imagery gathered or generated by al-Qaeda for a variety of purposes.

CIA recovered more than 10,000 video files which include a video of Bin Laden's son Hamza Bin Laden as a young adult, al-Qaeda "home videos," draft videos or statements by Bin Laden, and jihadist propaganda.

Here are some interesting things found in the massive cache recovered from his house:

Visit to Shakespeare's birthplace

This is the first confirmation of Osama Bin Laden having travelled to the West earlier in his life. Bin Laden had visited the United Kingdom on a summer trip when he was 13 and studied there for 10 weeks.

In his journal, Bin Laden has written that he used to visit William Shakespeare's birthplace in Stratford-upon-Avon and that he was “not impressed” by British society and culture during his time in the UK.

“I got the impression that they were a loose people, and my age didn’t allow me to form a complete picture of life there,” he wrote.

“We went every Sunday to visit Shakespeare’s house. I was not impressed and I saw that they were a society different from ours and that they were a morally loose society," he added.

He has said that the visits to Shakespeare’s birthplace convinced him that west was “decadent”.

'Charlie bit my finger, again!'

The terror mastermind had the 'Charlie Bit My Finger' video on his computer when the raid happened in 2011.

The 55-second video had gone viral on the internet years ago and has been viewed more than 850 million times on YouTube.

Bin Laden had kept copies of several other viral YouTube video including 'How to Crochet a Flower'.

Another home video found on the computer shows the terror mastermind and his children playing with his farm animals and guns inside the compound.

Media documentaries about himself

CIA found a large quantity of copyright-protected material. There were more than two dozen films such as AntzCars, Chicken Little, The Three Musketeers and other animated movies, a role-playing game Final Fantasy VII.

The US forces also found 'Where in the World is Osama bin Laden' and two other documentaries about Bin Laden on the computer.

Children's content

The founder of al-Qaeda had been living in the compound with his family and children. Bin laden's computer was found to have a large number of children’s content.

Relations with Iran

A 19-page document containing a senior al-Qaeda militant’s assessment of the group’s relationship with Iran was also recovered.

The document describes an offer by Iran to provide unidentified “Saudi brothers” with “money, arms” and “training in Hezbollah camps in Lebanon," in exchange for striking American interests in Saudi Arabia and the Gulf region.

However, it is unclear if it was a plan send for Bin Laden's approval or an existing policy of the group.
