Amid anti-immigration protests and counter-protests raging across the United Kingdom, Tesla CEO and X (erstwhile Twitter) owner Elon Musk has been busy with his cryptic one-liners and he is clearly not happy with the Keir Starmer government.
Reposting a video about alleged arrests being made over Facebook comments, Musk shot back at the Starmer administration - "Is this Britain or the Soviet Union?” He also tagged ‘Community Notes,’ the factchecking resource of X to verify the claim. This is not the first time that the billionaire has rebuked the UK government over the riots.

On situation in the UK cities on August 4, a X user had blamed the open borders and mass migration as the key reason for the riots. To this, Musk replied with “civil war is inevitable.”

In another post targeting the British PM, Musk said "why aren't all communities protected in Britain?". The war of words continue with Musk backing the anti-immigration protesters. Social media has played a major role in fuelling the riots that have engulfed major cities across the UK.
However, in response to the far-right groups, thousands of people held a mega rally in Walthamstow and many other places. The anti-racism rallies come days after violent protests and riots broke out in the areas such as Liverpool, Sunderland, Rotherham after killing of three girls at Taylor Swift-themed dance workshop in Southport. Over 400 people have been arrested so far.
After the COBRA emergency meeting, the British PM had said that every rioter will feel the “full force of the law.” Over 6,000 special officials have been deployed to tackle with the troublemakers.
