Collins-Street-skyscraper_Zaha-Hadid_dezeen_936Zaha Hadid’s 54 storey skyscraper’s designed for Melbourne has been revealed to the world by the property developer Landream. The structure would be located at 582-606 Collins Street, Central Business Direct (CBD). Zaha and Plus Architecture are joining hands for this project. This skyscraper would be the third building in Australia to be designed by a London based architect, the other two are at Brisbane and Gold Coast. The design of the structure is striking and matchless. The architects today are not only inclined at designing eye-catching architecture but are also take into account the efficiency of the structure and this structure is no exception. The building is designed to consume 50 per cent less energy than a conventional mixed-use tower. High performance glazing, efficient central cooling, low-energy lighting and grey-water reuse systems would help them to achieve their goal. The tower’s glazed exterior would be clad with a filigree facade system that forms a colonnade at ground level. This will also act as a sunshade, helping to reduce the building’s solar gain. The vases are stacked one on top of the other; the tapering structure will give rise to three elevated terraces. The skyscraper would house shops, offices, apartments and a public plaza surrounding the building’s base. The parking for vehicles and road connectivity has also been taken care of in this project.
