Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan held a bilateral meeting with his Indonesian counterpart, Prabowo Subianto, during a state visit to Indonesia on Wednesday (February 12) following his trip to Malaysia earlier this week. The two leaders discussed views on Palestinian independence on top of defence and bilateral cooperation, citing plans to strengthen relations between their two countries. They also spoke about the situation in Gaza, with Prabowo saying that “Indonesia and Turkey have a shared vision that the solution for peace in Palestine is the independence of Palestine through the two-state solution". On his part, Erdogan said it is “impossible for the surrounding countries to achieve peace” if Gaza and Palestinians do not have peace.
