Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri visited Bangladesh amid strained bilateral ties following Sheikh Hasina's ouster in August. In talks with Bangladeshi foreign adviser Md. Touhid Hossain, Misri conveyed concerns over recent violence targeting Hindus, minorities, and religious sites in Bangladesh. He described the discussions as "frank and constructive," urging Bangladeshi authorities to adopt a proactive approach to address these issues. Misri emphasised India's desire for a positive and mutually beneficial relationship with Bangladesh, despite tensions escalating after Nobel laureate Muhammad Yunus assumed power. The arrest of Hindu monk Chinmoy Krishna Das and attacks on minorities further strained ties between the neighbours.
