The heartfelt message resonated widely, prompting an outpouring of support.

A Bengaluru resident recently took to social media to share an unexpected encounter with a Swiggy delivery agent whose story moved thousands online.

Nithin Kumar, a user on X (formerly Twitter), had anticipated an ordinary food delivery. Instead, he was met with a story of perseverance and quiet ambition. His delivery partner that evening was not just another gig worker but Padmanaban Ebbas — a full-stack developer with over 19 years of experience in the software industry.

To Kumar’s astonishment, Ebbas was not only a seasoned technologist but also the founder of a Tamil Nadu-based software company. As Kumar later recounted in his now-viral post, Padmanaban handed him a resume along with the food order, detailing his extensive professional background and the services offered by his firm.

“I asked if he wanted a job,” Kumar wrote. “He said, ‘No, just trying to get my business back on track.’”

Padmanaban’s story struck a chord across the internet. The note he handed over to Kumar read: "Hi, I am Padmanaban Ebbas – a full-stack developer with 19+ years of experience, and your Swiggy delivery partner tonight. I once ran a software company, led teams and built apps for global clients. Today, I deliver food, not just for survival but to rebuild from scratch. Every delivery helps me stand taller. I'd love to help you or your business, too."

The heartfelt message resonated widely, prompting an outpouring of support. Kumar, evidently moved by the encounter, urged others to assist the determined developer in reviving his business. “Let’s get him the break he deserves. Do share it,” he wrote, sharing Padmanaban’s resume and LinkedIn profile in the post.

According to his LinkedIn profile, Padmanaban founded Curicent Technologies LLP in 2018. The company, based in Tamil Nadu, aimed to build innovative software solutions, drawing on his background in Electronics and Communication Engineering. Over nearly two decades, he had developed deep expertise in full-stack development and also nurtured a keen interest in Robotics and the Internet of Things (IoT).

His profile also highlighted his commitment to mentoring the next generation of tech talent through seminars and workshops, seeking to bridge the gap between students and industry. He has been active in supporting young innovators, helping them develop and bring forth new ideas.

The resume shared publicly listed Padmanaban’s professional strengths as including direct support, clear communication, affordable pricing for small businesses, and a quick turnaround with professional results.

Many users responded to Kumar’s post with admiration and encouragement, praising Padmanaban’s resilience and determination. One user commented, “Great Spirit. May God bless him.” Another remarked, “Dreams don’t die. They wait for us to rise again.”

Some also offered practical advice. “He might have to learn a few AI tools to make/debug/test software,” one user suggested. Another observed, “Ah, skills evolve. With his experience, adapting shouldn’t be hard.” A different comment read, “There will be no issues getting work for people like him. Hustle is what differentiates the employed and unemployed!"

Another user described his curriculum vitae as “impressive” and wished him “loads of luck.”

In a moment that could only be described as a classic ‘Peak Bengaluru’ experience, a Swiggy delivery partner did far more than drop off an order — he delivered a message of grit and quiet hope. As Mr Kumar’s post made its rounds online, many were left inspired by a man who once ran a thriving business, now choosing to deliver food not out of defeat, but as a stepping stone to rebuild his dream.

The message — “Delivered with care. Built with code.” — was more than a note. It was a reminder that resilience, when combined with skill and humility, can still touch hearts and possibly open doors.
