Nagpur hosted one of its most widely discussed social events this week as Kenisha Paliwal married Vevek Agrawal, son of Kamal Agrawal, Managing Director of the Haldiram Group, and grandson of the group’s chairman, Shivkishan Agrawal.
Clips circulating online show large-scale celebrations held at the five-star Le Meridien hotel as well as at the family’s private Shiv Estate. Actor Shahid Kapoor performed during the festivities, contributing to the event’s visibility across social media platforms. While the scale and guest list drew attention, online commentary has largely centred on the bride’s academic record and professional background.
Background and education:
Kenisha Paliwal was born in India and spent most of her formative years in the United Kingdom. She completed her schooling at Haileybury before relocating to the United States for higher education.
According to her LinkedIn profile, she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University, followed by a Master of Science in Technology Management from Columbia University.
Explaining her decision to move abroad, she said in an interview: “I was raised in the UK, and spent most of my time there. But then I realised that I was getting too comfortable there. So I thought, why not go to the US? If I hate it, I can always come back. I did not hate it there and ended up spending six years there.”
She has also stated that periods spent living in Hong Kong and Copenhagen influenced the direction of her career.
Professional career:
Paliwal currently serves as Executive Director at Delta Corp Holdings, a London-headquartered logistics enterprise operating across bulk logistics, energy logistics, asset management and energy transition. The company is led by her father, Mudit Paliwal, who founded the business and serves as its Chief Executive Officer. He previously played a role in scaling companies including Norvic Shipping and Caravel Group internationally.
Prior to taking on a senior leadership role, she worked in New York as an asset management analyst at Goldman Sachs between 2022 and 2024. Earlier in her career, she undertook a renewable energy summer analyst internship at The D. E. Shaw Group.
In addition to her responsibilities at Delta Corp Holdings, she leads Helixtech Asset Management, an initiative shaped by her experience in financial services. She is also Founder and Director of Helixtech, a technology and advisory firm that collaborates with multinational corporations on strategic consulting, digital transformation and technology implementation projects.
Beyond the private sector, she serves as a global strategic advisory member at O.P. Jindal University.
Her move from international finance and logistics into one of India’s best-known family-run consumer brands represents a new association between the Paliwal and Agrawal business families.
Vevek Agrawal’s background:
Vevek Agrawal completed a Bachelor of Business Administration degree at Coventry University in 2018. In September 2022, he pursued a Master of Science in International Strategy and Business at Lancaster University.
According to his LinkedIn profile, he joined Haldirams Food International in November 2022. He became a Director at Haldirams in March 2019. He was also part of the founding team of Tropesphere in London, a venture developing a mobile application designed to digitise care home operations.
The Haldiram legacy:
The Haldiram brand traces its origins to a small shop established in Bikaner, Rajasthan, by Ganga Bishan Agarwal, grandfather of Shivkishan Agrawal. Over decades, the enterprise expanded into one of India’s most recognised snack and confectionery businesses, with operations across domestic and international markets.
