Goa-based Fly91, a regional airline, commenced its flight operations from March 18 with its inaugural flights to Hyderabad and Bengaluru. According to the airline’s flight schedule, Goa-Bengaluru flights will be available on Monday, Friday and Saturday while Goa-Hyderabad flights have been scheduled for Tuesday and Sunday. This flight schedule is effective till April 7, 2024.
The airline has one 72- seater ATR-72 aircraft and plans to add three more aircraft by June. In the first four months, the airline plans to start flights from Sindhudurg to Hyderabad and Bengaluru, followed by flights to Agatti and Jalgaon. All flights will be from Goa.
Fly91 plans to be a '30-32’ strong aircraft fleet in the first five years, connecting as many as 50 cities. It plans to open a new base in a new city every year from where it will connect up to 10 cities.
The airline was named ‘Fly 91’ after India’s telephone code '91’.
Fly91 is the first airline to be headquartered in Goa. The airline would be operating services with the Manohar International Airport in Goa as its home base.
