Swiggy Instamart CEO shares data on how India is celebrating Mother's Day. See posts

A major chunk of the world is celebrating Mother’s Day today and showering their birth-givers with love and gifts. To ring in the extra special day, CEO of Swiggy Instamart Phani Kishan took to X to share data and stats around the order trends. According to Kishan, the “Mother’s Day” section on the app has received a tremendous consumer response.

In his latest post on X, Kishan said that Swiggy Instamart witnessed a whopping 141% surge in orders for handbags, perfumes and watches. “Seems like moms are getting a fabulous makeover this Mother’s Day! @swiggyInstamart witnessed a whopping 141% surge in orders for handbags, perfumes and watches. Setting a new record for single-day orders," the CEO wrote.

In another post, Kishan informed that orders for chocolates began as early as midnight and currently stands at 143 chocolates per minute. "Orders for chocolate started as early as midnight and continue to be ordered. We’re currently running at 143 chocolates per minute. Love for our mothers is sweeter than everything else," he wrote.

He also gave a shoutout to a customer from Mumbai who ordered 11 items including cards, chocolates, flowers, a handbag and perfume.

As per the data, cards and mugs were the go-to gifts for people who started ordering at the last minute. The app was “buzzing at 41 cards per minutes” and going out of stock. “Don't worry, we’re stocking up. From new moms to plant and pet moms, there's something for every mom out there!” he wrote.

Meanwhile, apart from the numbers, Kishan also shared a post about a heartwarming gesture of Swiggy Instamart for its employees. According to the CEO, store executives are being surprised by a visit from their mothers.
