A brazen robbery caught on camera shows a masked man ransacking an Apple store in Emeryville, California. Dressed in an all-black outfit with red sneakers, the man was filmed shoving iPhones in his pocket as bewildered customers watched in stunned silence.

The man reportedly made off with more than 40 iPhones that were kept on display at the store. Footage shows him ripping the devices off their charging cables and stuffing them inside his pants. He was seen making his getaway in a waiting car, pulling up his pants that were presumably slipping from the weight of the iPhones.

According to CBS News, Emeryville Police received news of the daylight robbery around 10.25 am on Monday.

Surprisingly enough, the video of the robbery shows a police car on the street. Emeryville Police said the car was unoccupied and there were no officers in the area at the time of robbery.

Police identified the suspect in the video as Tyler Mims, a 22-year-old Berkley native. He has been booked on three counts of conspiracy, three counts of burglary, three counts of grand theft and three counts of organized retail theft and is scheduled to appear in court on Friday.

Details of two other suspects arrested along with Mims were not available.

Last year, a woman in China chewed through an anti-theft cable to steal an iPhone 14 from an Apple store.
