Mamaearth's Ghazal Alagh admits to getting affected by social media hate. How she deals with it

Mamaearth co-founder Ghazal Alagh says she manages her stress and anxiety in three ways.

Ghazal Alagh on Wednesday admitted that she gets affected by other people's views and the hate she receives on social media. Taking to X, the Mamaearth co-founder listed three ways she manages to keep her mental peace while handling work and family simultaneously.

"Managing 7 brands, 2 kids, 1300+ employees, and more brings with it a whole set of challenges that may cause stress and anxiety," she said before listing her pointers.

1.) Reduce phone use

Ghazal Alagh said she does not use the phone for the first two hours after waking up and one hour before going to bed. "I top it up with five hours of no digital contact on Sundays," she said.

2.) Getting bored

The "Chief Mama" said that she looks forward to getting bored for at least 30 to 60 minutes everyday. "This fuels my creative thinking, which helps me in my business."

3.) Moderating action on social media

"Not letting people’s views or social media hate affect me beyond a certain point," Alagh said. "Take action where needed and move on."

Recently, the Mamaearth boss did take action on social media when an influencer criticised her products and said that they deserve to be chucked into the dustbin.

It started when X user Aditi (@Sassy_Soul_), who has more than 80,000 followers, shared a picture of Mamaearth's Vitamin C and Uptan facewash and wrote: "If you see these products anywhere, immediately pick them up, throw them in the dustbin, and run away."

Responding to the post, Alagh had written, "Just sorry you woke up with a lot of hate. I hope you feel better soon. I would have loved to address if there was a problem. But I couldn’t find any apart from you hopping onto a Twitter trend and finding a picture of the products. Quality on Mamaearth is my personal guarantee, and I am here to address each and every concern that you, or anyone on Twitter might have. I am DM away and if any of my consumers have feedback or issue with any Mamaearth product, I will get back to them."
