Harman Singh Kapoor, the owner of the Indian restaurant Rangrez in London, has officially announced its upcoming closure after 16 years of operation.
Rangrez restaurant in London, owned by Harman Singh Kapoor, has announced the closure after 16 years in business. In an X post, Kapoor blamed soaring costs, lack of support from local authorities, ongoing online harassment and attacks by Pakistanis, and a lack of proper support from the Met Police for the closure. “Rising costs, ongoing online harassment, repeated disturbances and attacks by Pakistanis and a lack of proper support from the Met Police have made it impossible to continue.”
Harman Singh Kapoor, who owns Rangrez with his wife, wrote, “After 16 unforgettable years, I’ve made the difficult decision to close Rangrez restaurant Hammersmith next month.”
He added, "Now it’s time for me to dedicate myself fully to activism without distraction. Radicals should keep this in mind: you can disrupt my business, but not my will. I’m coming after you stronger now, with no strings attached.”

He further shared his plans and thanked customers for their support over the years. “Thank you to every genuine customer who supported us over the years. Grateful always,” Kapoor concluded.
The post quickly gained traction, with users responding in large numbers.
One user wrote, “Sorry to hear this, Harman. I have had the delight of visiting Rangrez in Hammersmith & the food was fine. Not sure why people left bad reviews. I hope you have found your calling.”
Another X user said, “I'm sorry to hear about your business closing. It's despicable to think you pay taxes for what reason? Oh yes, for the gov to take your money & give it to those who arrive on boats & harass you.”
A third user added, “Sorry to read this, Harman. I too have a business and can agree with rising costs, and now I’m at the beginning of getting hassle from some weird people online mainly. Keep going, we will get the job done.”
