The India AI Impact Summit 2026, scheduled to take place in New Delhi from February 16, is set to be the largest of the four global artificial intelligence summits held to date. The four-day event is expected to underscore the growing international focus on artificial intelligence that is designed to be responsible, inclusive and socially impactful.
The summithas attracted significant global attention, with more than 35,000 registrations recorded so far. Participants are expected to include representatives from governments, global and Indian technology companies, academic institutions, civil society groups and international organisations, all of whom are likely to contribute to shaping the summit’s discussions and outcomes.
According to official estimates, delegations from over 100 countries are expected to attend. The event is also likely to see the presence of 15 to 20 Heads of Government, more than 50 ministers from different countries, and over 40 chief executives from leading Indian and international companies. The summit has been described by organisers as one of the most prominent artificial intelligence gatherings to be hosted in the global south.
Even before the event begins, its economic impact is already being felt in the national capital. Room rates at several luxury hotels in Delhi have risen sharply for the summit period, particularly around February 15 to February 19, compared with prices on regular dates.
At The Leela Palace, New Delhi, a one-night stay on February 15 is listed at Rs 79,500 for a ‘Run of the House’ room, while a ‘Royal Club Room’ is priced at Rs 74,500, according to rates displayed on the hotel’s official website. In contrast, the same categories for March 15 are priced significantly lower, at approximately Rs 58,490 and Rs 39,190 per night, respectively.
A similar increase is visible for February 17 at The Leela Palace. On that date, a ‘Run of the House’ room is priced at Rs 399,500 per night. For comparison, the same room category for March 17 is listed at Rs 58,490 per night.
At Taj Palace, New Delhi, room tariffs have also risen steeply during the summit dates. For the night of February 17, the lowest available rate begins at Rs 85,000 per night, with premium room categories prices going up till Rs 30,00,000, according to the hotel’s website. By contrast, bookings for April 16 show substantially lower prices, starting at approximately Rs 30,000 per night.
At The Oberoi, New Delhi, room rates for for the same dates go up to Rs 5 lakh and customers can only reserve the rooms for a minimum of two nights.
As India prepares to host global political leaders, policymakers and technology executives for the India AI Impact Summit 2026, the surge in hotel tariffs highlights the scale of international interest in the event, as well as the immediate commercial impact of hosting one of the world’s largest artificial intelligence summits.
