As ironies go, few can match the life of a fast-paced and time-starved modern individual. Unlike in the past, where one had to move about to get things done, today, most of it can be handled remotely over a smartphone or a laptop. Small wonder that while most of us can achieve our goals by crouching over our laptops, our lives have increasingly become sedentary.

According to the World Health Organisation, Physical inactivity “increases all causes of mortality and doubles the risk of cardiovascular diseases”. The sedentary lifestyle is not only restricted to office goers but the WHO estimates that globally, “81% of adolescents do not do enough physical activity”.

The onset of the pandemic in 2020 did not help either where nationwide lockdowns forced us within our homes. Such lack of physical movement is only exacerbated by a steady rise in a diet of junk. For instance, on April 19th, which marked the “World Liver Day”, doctors in India blamed alcohol, junk food and sugary drinks as a leading cause of liver diseases in the country

The litany of woes could go on. The need to stay fit and eat healthy cannot be overstated. And despite all the precautions, our bodies can stump us with surprises when we least expect them. How can we stay ahead of the curve?

Ask Socrates who once remarked that "An unexamined life is not worth living". Whereas he meant it figuratively, the same also applies quite literally in today’s day and age: with the emergence of new diseases and rising medical inflation, it has become more important than ever to examine our health and take action to protect ourselves and our loved ones. The skyrocketing costs of modern healthcare have made standard health insurance policies with coverage of only a few lakhs inadequate.

In that light, Reliance General Insurance has spotted an unmet need, and introduced Reliance Health Infinity Insurance. This policy offers limitless benefits and add-ons that can be customised to meet our individual medical needs, providing peace of mind in uncertain times. It offers MoreCover add-on which gives high sum insured coverage of up to INR 5 Crores, with an additional cover of INR 1.5 Crores, taking the total sum insured up to INR 6.5 Crores. The policy duration is also longer than standard health insurance policies, with a 13-month policy period instead of just 12 months and a coverage period of up to 26 months with the MoreTime add-on.

With MoreGlobal add-on, Global emergency hospitalisation and planned hospitalisation, too, are covered. One can plan their health treatment abroad and get best-in-class emergency treatment.

Such ‘Zyaada Se Bohot Zyaada’ add-ons can help customize the policy further as per individual needs, including coverage for OPD expenses, Air Ambulance, medical equipment expenses, and consumables. Maternity cover is also available a waiting period of just 1 or 2 years (as opted). This policy also Covers for Normal, C-section, Pre-Natal & Post-Natal expenses. There’s even a Separate New-Born cover of ₹1 lac along with a Vaccination cover.

The policy also offers limitless discounts to customers, such as discounts on premiums for maintaining their BMI and good credit score. Additionally, customers who insure a girl child in the family floater policy can avail a 5% discount, and another 5% discount is available if the proposer is a female. Customers who buy the policy online can avail a 10% discount.

The policy can be availed for 1 to 3 years policy tenure by individuals as well as families of up to 8 members. Children above 90 days of age and adults between 18 to 65 years of age, too, can benefit from the policy.

Financial well-being and health tied at the hip?

The company has also introduced the country's first credit score-based discount on insurance premiums. Customers who have high credit scores and good credit reports can avail of up to 7.5% discount on insurance premiums when buying or renewing their existing Reliance Health Infinity Policy.

By offering innovative product features and services that contribute more than proportionately to customers' well-being, Reliance General Insurance has been a trendsetter in its segment.
