Bollywood actor Rhea Chakraborty on July 29 moved the Supreme Court seeking a transfer of the FIR lodged against her in Patna to Mumbai, where the investigation in the death case of Sushant Singh Rajput is going on.
The move came a day after Sushant's father KK Singh filed an FIR against Rhea and six others, including her family members, accusing them of abetting the 34-year-old actor's suicide.
Advocate Satish Maneshinde, who is representing Chakraborty, said he has filed a petition in the apex court seeking transfer of the case from Patna to Mumbai.
In her plea, Rhea has also sought a stay on the investigation till the disposal of her plea in the top court, the lawyer said.
A four-member team of Patna police is in Mumbai for investigation.
Mumbai police is already probing the alleged suicide case, and has questioned several Bollywood bigwigs, including filmmakers Mahesh Bhatt and Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Rhea Chakraborty has also recorded her statement.
Sushant Singh Rajput was found hanging from the ceiling of his apartment in suburban Bandra in Mumbai on June 14.
Several political leaders and film personalities have also demanded a CBI probe into his death.
Rajput's suspected death by suicide has also triggered a debate on alleged nepotism and favouritism in the Hindi film industry.
Several top production houses had allegedly boycotted the Patna-born actor, causing him distress and compelling him to end his life.
