Box Office: Mammootty’s Bramayugam collects Rs 15 crore worldwide

Rahul Sadasivan's directorial raked in Rs 3.1 crore on Opening Day and, over the weekend, the Malayalam film has grossed Rs 8.5 crore from Kerala alone.

Mammootty’s Bramayugam’s opening collection was Rs 3.1 crore and on the second day, it earned Rs 2.5 crore. In two days, the film has reportedly grossed Rs 15 crore worldwide.

From Kerala alone it has grossed Rs 8.5 crore total on Day 3. Directed by Rahul Sadasivan whose previous psychological thriller Bhoothakalam was a direct OTT release and received widespread critical acclaim has made his latest period psychological horror thriller in monochrome.

The film was released simultaneously in Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Telugu with Mammootty dubbing in all languages. Following the overwhelming word-of-mouth positive reports, extra shows were added in various theatres worldwide.

On Day 3, 755-plus shows were added at the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). The film has also made a record on Bookmyshow. According to trade analysts, 1,33,000 tickets have been sold online so far. On the release day itself, the first and second shows were house-full. According to the producers, 100-plus shows were added in Kerala.

If Mammootty’s Kaathal - The Core garnered Rs 1.05 crore on opening day, Bramayugam has surpassed that figure with Rs 3.1 crore. His Kannur Squad had earned around Rs 100 crore worldwide and is said to be the 6th highest-grossing Malayalam film of all time. While Bheeshma Parvam (said to be his highest-grosser film) made over Rs 115 crore worldwide (along with satellite and digital rights), Rorschach (considered one of the best experimental films of recent times) made around Rs 40 crore worldwide. Bheeshma Parvam is also the first ever Malayalam film to join the 100-crore club after the pandemic. The film is said to have earned Rs 36 crore from abroad alone.

Co-starring Arjun Asokan and Sidharth Bharathan, YNOT studios and Night Shift studios made their foray into Malayalam cinema with Bramayugam. Night Shift Studios was started with the sole intention of producing horror thrillers.

Meanwhile, Mammootty’s black magician Koduman Potty is getting rave reviews along with the performances of Arjun Asokan and Sidharth Bharathan. The film is also appreciated for its top-notch making, cinematography, and music.
