A man from Surat in Gujarat took to share his opinion on marrying “highly-educated working women” and sparked a row on X. Vijay Marathe, a stock market analyst, called such women a “big red flag” in his viral post.
“Marrying highly educated working women will be one of the worst decision you will ever make in your life,” Marathe wrote, adding, “Big red flag.”

Marathe’s opinion, however, received flak from a majority of people on X as his post went viral with over four million views. Several social media users slammed him and actively disagreed with his thought in the comments section.
“You don’t have to worry about it because no highly educated woman will even consider you for a second,” one user wrote.
Another user commented, “Marrying a man who is insecure of his woman’s education and achievements can be the worst decision of a woman’s life.”
“Seems you are the jealous types. Cannot see a woman achieve more success than you and questioning you on your views,” a third user remarked.
A fourth user added, “One of the worst tweets ever. Male ego is clear from this tweet. You want control, power. You are the one who is afraid of equality. Go see a doctor.”
“Marrying a highly educated working woman has been the biggest blessing of my life. On the other hand, I sincerely hope your wish comes true and no highly educated working woman ever considers you, even remotely,” another user chimed in.
Marathe even reposted users’ tweets that showed support for his opinion on X. He also acknowledged how his post “spread like fire” and ruffled a lot of feathers.
“Spreading like Fire. People on social media are never able to digest the facts,” Marathe wrote.
