Former chief executive officer Thierry Delaporte, in an email to employees on April 6, said his main goal is complete with foundational elements of transformation being in place. Moneycontrol has seen a copy of the email.

Delaporte said that he is handing over the reins to his successor Pallia, who will drive excellence on the back of this transformation, and move towards execution of all the investments the company has made.

"12 acquisitions is no mean feat of vision, strategy and effort from you all, especially when two of them happen to be among the largest ones in Wipro's history - Capco and Rizing," Delaporte wrote in the mail.

He further said the investments in Wipro employees remain the most important, apart from the significant investments the information technology major has made into new technology solutions and capabilities, including Al, cloud, cyber security, data, and engineering. Adding Wipro has invested in first-of-its-kind implementations of modern IT systems.

Delaporte further said he is "proud" of the leadership team that's now in place, which is a great mix of tenured, home-grown leaders, and new talent from the industry.

"This is a team that's inspiring and aspirational in their diversity and breadth of experience. Today, 35% of my direct reports are women, up from 5% four years ago. It is my firm belief that there is no limit to opportunities in Wipro for deserving colleagues," he further said.

He said the new CEO, Srinivas Pallia, is one of his strongest leaders in the Executive Team. Pallia knows the company better than most and is the "most natural choice" to lead this next phase, he said.

"Over the next two months, I will work with Srini to transition this role, as he prepares to take Wipro to the next cycle of growth," said Delaporte in the mail.

Message to employees

Delaporte asked employees to protect their bold ambitions and big goals, "feed it with discipline and attention to excellence, have faith in your company, and confidence in yourself." Adding that "Wipro is for you, by you, and here for you. Keep taking your company to higher highs!"
