Resilience, tenacity, and adaptability - three qualities that Wipro's newly minted CEO and MD Srinivas Pallia picked up as a passionate hiker would guide him as a leader, he said, as he sought to rally and motivate employees in his first email.
The email, a copy of which Moneycontrol has seen, was sent on Saturday, April 6, after the company announced the appointment of Pallia, ending his predecessor Thierry Delaporte's four-year tenure.

Pallia further said he has seen Wipro's remarkable resilience and adaptability through numerous technology cycles and industry shifts. "Your collective efforts have propelled our success, and I'm honoured to lead such a talented and diverse team," he added.
He said he joined the Bengaluru-based company right out of college, as have many others in the organisation. "These past three decades with our company have been transformative - a journey of continuous discovery, growth, and learning that shaped me into the leader I am today," he elaborated.
Pallia said he has had the privilege of experiencing first-hand, the breadth and depth of the company's businesses across various functions, diverse geographies, and service lines.

Pallia said he's devoted to Wipro's success, but he also believes in work-life balance.
Being a hiker, Pallia said he has learned to appreciate not just the destination, but also the journey. "I am dedicated to creating a culture that values every step of our journey - triumphs, setbacks, and everything in between," said the 32-year Wipro veteran.
Pallia also thanked his predecessor Delaporte for his "exceptional leadership and guidance." He said the foundation Delaporte has set will be invaluable as the company moves forward.

"Wipro's steadfast dedication to both profit and purpose has long inspired me," he added.
Pallia will meet associates and clients to understand their perspectives and build on our shared vision. He further said, in the mail, that Wipro's core purpose remains supporting its clients' success. "I will be a relentless advocate, urging us to focus on execution, embrace bold ideas, and take calculated risks to propel us forward," Pallia said.
