Maruti Suzuki S-Cross Petrol bookings commence ahead of August 5

Maruti Suzuki had already announced that the S-Cross Petrol will be launched on August 5. Now, in the run-up to that date, the company has decided to commence bookings for the car.

The S-Cross was earlier sold as a diesel variant and we found out that the S-Cross would be getting a petrol variant when the car was showcased at the 2020 Auto Expo. The company was supposed to launch the car sometime last month, but because of the ongoing pandemic and subsequent lockdown, this was pushed to August.

The S-Cross will be offered in in only one petrol engine variant and in four trim levels. The engine is the same as the one that powers the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz sedan. It is a 1.5-litre unit that churns out 155 PS on the Ciaz. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual and a four-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox.

The automatic variant of the S-Cross is also expected to get Maruti’s mild-hybrid technology. On the inside, expect the new Smartplay Studio touchscreen infotainment system from the company.

The new Maruti Suzuki S-Cross Petrol can be booked either by physically visiting the company’s premium Nexa dealership or by visiting the Nexa website for a token amount of Rs 11,000.
