Ashutosh Gupta, the India country manager for Microsoft-owned professional networking site LinkedIn, is leaving the company at the end of April 2024 after a 11-year stint, the firm said in a statement on March 14.
Gupta, who was also serving as the APAC head of online sales for the company's LinkedIn Marketing Solutions business, will take a career break before pursuing his next professional opportunity, the statement said.
"As we continue to grow and scale our business in this strategic market, our APAC and India leadership teams will lean in as we finalize the appointment of a new country manager for India" the statement said.
Gupta joined LinkedIn in 2013 as the India country lead for the company's marketing solutions business. He later moved to Singapore to build the firm's online sales organisation for the Asia Pacific region in 2016.
In September 2019, Gupta came back to India to take on the role of LinkedIn's India country manager.
During his tenure as India country manager, LinkedIn crossed the 100 million member mark and added support for Hindi, marking its first Indian language rollout in the country. The company said it also saw a substantial expansion of its Marketing Solutions business in the country.
India is the second-largest market for LinkedIn after the United States, with around 120 million members in the country. Globally, LinkedIn has over a billion users. The company reported over $15 billion in revenue for fiscal 2023.
