Intel has launched a new advertising campaign mocking Apple and its M1-powered MacBook. The new Intel ad campaign takes a dig at the M1’s limitations and highlights some key features that are only possible on Microsoft's Windows PC.
The campaign has been posted on Intel’s Twitter handle and other platforms. It has also partnered with a YouTuber to highlight the superiority of Windows over Mac. For instance, an advertisement points out that a Windows machine comes with multiple standard USB ports, an eGPU support, touch-screen and stylus support.
Another ad claims that the Mac is not ideal for scientists and those who use it for gaming. “If you can power a rocket launch and launch Rocket League, you’re not on Mac,” Intel tweeted. For the uninitiated, 'Rocket League' was discontinued on the Mac in 2020.
Last week, a report from PC World suggested that Intel claims its 11th Gen processors can easily take on and outpace the ARM-based M1 chip. “Intel just clapped back with a carefully crafted takedown of the Arm-based chip.” Intel’s testing showed that the Intel Core i7-1185G7 could “match or greatly exceed the M1’s performance in a MacBook Pro in both native and non-native applications.”
Apple began its transition from Intel x86 chips to its custom chips for the Mac. The company has already launched the M1-powered MacBook Air, MacBook Pro and Mac mini.
