Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 launched with Snapdragon 888 Plus SoC, 120W charging support, 108 MP triple cameras

Xiaomi recently dropped its flagship Mi Mix 4 in China. The Mi Mix 4 is the first smartphone to run on the Snapdragon 888+ mobile platform and is also the first in Xiaomi’s lineup to feature an under-display selfie camera.

The Mi Mix 4 is priced at CNY 4,999 (Roughly Rs 57,350) for the base 8GB/128GB model. Additionally, the 8GB/256GB, 12GB/256GB, and 12GB/512GB are priced at CNY 5,299 (Roughly Rs 60,800), CNY 5,799 (Roughly Rs 66,550) and CNY 6,299 (Roughly Rs 72,300) respectively.

The Mi Mix 4 will be available for pre-order starting tomorrow and will go on sale on August 16. As of now, Xiaomi has not mentioned any details about the international availability of the Mi Mix 4. The MIX 4 comes in three colours: Ceramic Black, Ceramic White, and the all-new Ceramic Gray.

The Mi Mix 4 is powered by a Snapdragon 888+ SoC paired with 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM. It also comes with up to 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage. The phone runs Android 11 based on the custom MIUI 12.5 skin.  The MIX 4 boosts antenna performance by using a unique interior metal case as an antenna amplifier. It has 19 antennas built-in and supports 42 bands.

The Mi Mix 4 also opts for a 4,500 mAh battery with 120W fast-wired charging support that can fully power the device in 15 minutes. Additionally, the phone also supports 50W fast wireless charging that can deliver a full charge in 28 minutes.

The Mi Mix 4 also opts for a 6.67-inch FHD+ curved OLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and a 480Hz touch sampling rate. The device has a virtually bezel-less screen and doesn’t have a notch or hole-punch camera cutout. Instead, the Mi Mix 4 has an under-display fingerprint reader, following ZTE and Oppo to adopt the technology. The zone above the 20 MP selfie camera features the same 400 ppi pixel density as the rest of the display, which makes the camera “virtually invisible”.

On the back, the Mi Mix 4 features a triple-camera setup with a 108-megapixel Samsung HMX sensor at the helm. The other two cameras include a 13 MP free-form ultrawide shooter and an 8 MP periscope camera with 50x zoom.

The Mi Mix 4 is equipped with stereo speakers by Harman Kardon that are Hi-Res Audio and Hi-Res Audio Wireless certified. The device also features an X-axis linear motor. Connectivity options on the Mi Mix 4 include 5G, 4G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, IR Blaster and more. The phone also supports UWB technology to enable “Point to connect” features.
