Amadeus acquires travel payment solutions company Voxel for over Rs 1,000 crore

Founded in 1998, Voxel is headquartered in Barcelona, and reported revenues of €18 million or Rs 162.8 crore in 2023

Travel technology company Amadeus announced on March 12 the acquisition of Voxel, a provider of electronic invoice and B2B (business-to-business) payment solutions for travel sellers, hotels, and other travel players.

The travel payment solutions company has been acquired for €113 million, or around Rs 1,022.30 crore.

Founded in 1998, Voxel is headquartered in Barcelona, Spain. It reported revenues of €18 million or Rs 162.8 crore in 2023. It is present in 100 countries and has more than 50,000 hotels and 1,000 tour operators and travel companies as customers.

As part of this acquisition, approximately 200 Voxel employees will join Amadeus.

The travel tech company is expecting wider range of payments services for travel sellers and a more automated electronic way to manage invoices for tour operators, hotel aggregators, and hotels with Voxel coming on board.

It also expects to better serve its corporate customers by further automating the business travel experience, from reservation and payments to expense management.
