Çelebi also dismissed social media claims about security lapses at the Delhi cargo terminal, stating that all its facilities are regularly audited by Indian authorities such as the CISF, BCAS, and AAI.

The 129 flights cancelled included 66 domestic flights meant to depart from and 63 domestic flights that were scheduled to arrive at the IGI Airport. Of the nine international flights disrupted, five were departures and four were arrivals at the Delhi airport.

As part of the heightened safety measures the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) has ordered that all passengers at all airports across the country will need to undergo secondary ladder point security check (LPSC) or pre-boarding check, senior government officials in the MoCA said.

The enhanced security steps ordered by BCAS include increased surveillance; strict on-ground monitoring of for operations of microlite aircraft, aero models, para glider, unmanned aerial systems (UAS), drones; deployment of additional security guards at aircraft; thorough scrutiny of PNR, passenger and cargo manifest.
The 90 cancelled flights included 46 domestic departures and 33 domestic arrivals at IGI Airport. Similarly, of the 11 disrupted international flights, five were departures and six were arrivals.
Among other things, shipping lines are exploring combining shipments with cargo meant for ports in West Asia, which is likely to delay delivery of shipments meant for Pakistani traders by a day.
