In an interview to CNBC-TV18, Rahul Modi of Antique Stock Broking says the company‘s earnings were mostly in-line with street expectations barring adjustments.
In the last 6-8 months, fair and remunerative price (FRP) had gained momentum, due to which the dependence of these distribution companies (DISCOMs) on banks funding had reduced substantially.
According to Rahul Modi, NTPC will still be on a higher trajectory than its peers even after a 300 bps cut in their operational ROE. “They will be in the range of 19-20 percent which is still not bad given the fact that most of the other power generators in the country today are way below that level," he adds.
Tata Power is likely to be the biggest beneficiary because as per estimates, one can expect the company to report Rs 200 crore profit due to the 55-58 paisa hike, instead of Rs 1,000 crore loss without the hike
