Chief Economic Advisor V Anantha Nageswaran hails the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana for surpassing 53.1 crore beneficiaries and Rs 2.3 lakh crore in deposits, calling it a transformative force in financial inclusion and women's empowerment in India.
The Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, launched on this day in 2014, is a national mission on financial inclusion encompassing an integrated approach to bring about comprehensive financial inclusion of all the households in the country.
CEA Nageswaran urged the IMF and World Bank to continue their cooperation and collaboration with G20 institutions to augment financial inclusion by using innovative methods and technologies, including DPI.
