The AAP today appointed Deepak Bajpai as the party's in-charge for the Rajasthan Assembly elections replacing dissident Kumar Vishwas, saying he was not able to "devote" time in the state.
The other accused in the case -- Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, and AAP members Raghav Chadha, Sanjay Singh, Ashutosh and Deepak Bajpai -- were acquitted by the court on April 3 after Jaitley accepted their apologies for their statements against him in connection with alleged irregularities in the DDCA.
"The activists who used to question polling and its process... their votes can be counted on the fingers of one hand instead of EVMs, but still they are indulging in negativity. This is dangerous for democracy," Vishwas wrote on Twitter, in an apparent dig at AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal.
A member of the Aam Aadmi Party said Vishwas, party in-charge for Rajasthan, had stopped campaigning in the state because of "lack of support" from the leadership.
Vishwas, who was angling for an RS slot, said that it is difficult to survive in the the Aam Aadmi Party if one disagrees with Kejriwal.
AAP has also set up a disciplinary committee to look into the statements made by Khan against Vishwas.
At yesterday's meeting, Vishwas insisted that stern action be taken against Okhla MLA Amantullah Khan, who had accused him of being a “RSS-BJP” agent and plotting a coup in the party, sources said.
