Leading the surge is Nagpur-based billionaire Satyanarayan Nuwal, chairman of Solar Industries. His net worth shot up by a staggering 78%, reaching $7.9 billion, driven by a defense order book worth ₹17,000 crore and a stock rally of 81% this year.
Mukesh Ambani, Chairman and Managing Director of Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) bags the richest Indian title with net worth of $82 billion. RIL Chairman is the only Indian to feature in the list of top ten billionaires in the world, according to 2023 Hurun Global Rich List. With a net loss of $28 billion, Gautam Adani slipped to the second spot.
Mumbai is home to 66 of India's 187 billionaires, according to the 2023 M3M Hurun Global Rich List. Delhi and Bengaluru are close behind with 39 and 21 billionaires respectively.
