Algerian boxer Imane Khelif has been classified as a 'biological male' after her opponent, Angela Carini from Italy, decided to withdraw from the match after just 46 seconds.
"I felt very scary, nervous, thinking what has happened to my life," Chand told PTI. The diagnosis was done by Dr Sudeep Satpathy, a professor at the Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) in Bhubaneswar.
The ban starts from January 3, 2023 and all the competitive results that she obtained from the date of sample collection which was December 5, 2022 will be disqualified while she will have to forfeit the medals, points and prizes.
In a letter addressed to Dutee, the AAF notification said, "I do hereby inform you that your sample A was tested at the NDTL (National Dope Testing Laboratory) in accordance with the procedure set out in WADA's (World Anti-Doping Agency) International Standard of Laboratories and was returned adverse analytical findings as details given below."
