Speaking exclusively to CNBC-TV18, Suresh Narayanan said there hasn't been any formal communication from FSSAI, but the regulator has suggested that they may pick some food samples of Nestle India as well as other manufacturers for testing
Nestle India's long-term outlook remains intact, and its dominant brands will continue to lead growth, says Citi
According to a report from Public Eye, a Swiss investigative organisation, Nestle added sugar in the form of sucrose or honey in samples of Nido and Cerelac.
The report highlighted that in India, where sales surpassed $250 million in 2022, all Cerelac baby cereals contain added sugar
The contaminants were found in a container of Cerelac, following which the samples were sent to food safety authorities for testing, the result of which is expected in one week time.
