'First Time In 500 years': Why this Diwali Is Special For PM Modi?

Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared this Diwali historic, as thousands of lamps will be lit in the Ram Lalla temple in Ayodhya after a 500-year wait. He described the occasion as a moment when "our Ram returns home," emphasizing that this Diwali marks the end of a prolonged wait. Modi made these remarks while launching development projects worth nearly Rs 12,850 crore and expanding the Ayushman Bharat health insurance scheme to senior citizens aged 70 and above. The consecration of the Ram Lalla idol at the Ayodhya temple earlier this year was a landmark event, witnessed by millions across the nation. Preparations for the festival include lighting 25 lakh diyas along the Sarayu River during 'Deepotsav' on October 29. With heavy security arrangements in place, Ayodhya is gearing up for grand celebrations, reflecting the significance of this festival of lights in the context of Indian heritage and spirituality.
