Cricketer Yashasvi Jaiswal has purchased an apartment in Mumbai for Rs 5.38 crore in the Ten BKC project at Bandra East, according to documents accessed by real estate database platform Zapkey. The apartment has a size of 1,110 square feet, and the deal for this under-construction flat was registered on January 7th, 2024 by Jaiswal, it is learnt.
Adani Realty, the project’s builder has declined to comment on this transaction.
The housing project has had a turbulent history with the original promoter Radius Estates having gone into insolvency. Thereafter, Adani Realty acquired the yet-to-be-constructed project and brokers say the completion and handover of apartments is likely to happen this year.
While the location was not the most preferred Mumbai residence at one time, the Bandra East area has found dramatic acceptance in the past decade owing to its proximity to the new central business district of Bandra Kurla Complex, as well as the presence of other major gated-community projects. Developers who have executed projects in the neighbourhood include Rustomjee and Kalpataru and the location is also seeing a rush of redevelopment projects at present.
Ten BKC is a residential project that was launched in 2016, with an offering of 2BHK, 3BHK and 4BHK apartments. At the registered price, Jaiswal’s purchase deal is valued at over Rs 48,000 per square foot. For Jaiswal, this also captures the classic rags-to-riches story, given his humble beginnings. He represents India in international cricket and Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League.
