The Election Commission on Tuesday published the draft electoral rolls for Uttar Pradesh under the ongoing special intensive revision (SIR) exercise.
Electors can verify their names in the draft rolls by visiting the Election Commission’s website at voters.eci.gov.in and entering their Electors Photo Identity Card (EPIC) number. The information is also accessible through the Commission’s mobile application, ECINET.
Here’s a quick guide on how to check your name in the Uttar Pradesh draft voter list
To check your name in the draft electoral rolls, visit the official website of the Election Commission, voters.eci.gov.in or the official website of Uttar Pradesh’s chief electoral officer, ceowestbengal.wb.gov.in.
Voters may check their names at the polling station with the booth-level officer (BLO), who has a copy of the electoral rolls for each booth. The details are also accessible via the ECINET mobile app.
After you head to the portal, you can search using name and electors photo identity card (EPIC) number and the details will appear.
What should you do if you can’t find your name in the lists?
In case you are not able to find your name in the draft electoral rolls, follow the steps mentioned below:
First, you have to fill and submit Form 6 along with ‘Annexure-IV’, which is a declaration form, to the booth level officer (BLO).
This can be submitted offline at the BLO’s office or online at voters.eci.gov.in. The same can also be submitted through the ECINET app. Applicants will be required to appear before the Commission for a hearing, submit documents proving Indian citizenship and voter eligibility, and explain why their names could not be linked during the revision process, according to a Times of India report.
If you are not able to access the website, check with the BLO appointed by the commission. One can also reach out to the booth level assistants (BLAs) from the political parties for assistance.
The claims and objections window is from December 16 to January 15, 2026.
2.89 crore electors left out of draft electoral rolls of Uttar Pradesh
The special intensive revision of the electoral rolls in Uttar Pradesh has concluded, with a significant number of voters being classified as “uncollectable,” sources said. Around 2.89 crore voters have been removed from the rolls after their names could not be retained during the revision process. Prior to the exercise, the state had approximately 15.44 crore registered voters.
Following the completion of the SIR process, nearly 18.7 per cent of the electorate, amounting to about 2.89 crore voters, could not be included in the final rolls. The impact has been particularly visible in the state capital, Lucknow, where the voter count has dropped by close to 12 lakh.
Officials said that among the voters whose names were deleted, around 1.25 crore had permanently relocated to other places and had themselves informed booth-level officers about the move. Additionally, 45.95 lakh voters were reported deceased, while 23.59 lakh names were identified as duplicate entries.
