The gunfight erupted when troops from the Army’s First Para unit, along with local police, conducted a search operation in the Khandara Top area after receiving information about the presence of terrorists.
The terrorists, who were hiding in the area, opened fire on the search teams around 12:50 p.m., prompting retaliation from the security forces. Reinforcements have been deployed to the forested area as efforts continue to neutralise the terrorists, officials confirmed.
