Saif Ali Khan praises Rahul Gandhi: ‘What he has done…’

Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan, known for his roles in movies like Omkara, Race, Dil Chahta Hai, praised Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi at an event in Mumbai.

“I like a brave and honest politician,” said Khan at the India Today Conclave.

On being asked about who he thinks – from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal – as a brave politician who can lead India into the future, the actor said they are all brave politicians.

Khan went on to praise Rahul Gandhi for turning around the disrespect he faced over the last few years.

“What Rahul Gandhi has done is also very impressive because there was a point when people were disrespecting the things he was doing or saying. He has turned that around by working very hand in an interesting way,” said Khan.

Democracy is alive and thriving in India, the actor said, without going much into details about his political views and opinions.

Congress spokesperson Shama Mohamed shared the video of Khan speaking about Rahul Gandhi on her X handle. She said it was true that Gandhi has changed people's views about him.

“Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan is full of praise for LoP Rahul Gandhi Ji. What he says is absolutely true—Rahul Gandhi Ji has changed people’s views about him through his hard work,” she wrote.
