Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to participate in the much-awaited Ram Mandir consecration or pran pratishtha ceremony at Ayodhya. He has been following a strict 11-day ‘anushthan’ or special ritual which includes sleeping on the floor and consuming coconut water. Over 8,000 special invitee will witness the grand event outside the 'garbh griha' or sanctum sanctorum.
"The PM will participate in Pran Pratishtha (consecration) ceremony of Shri Ramlalla in the newly built Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Mandir in Ayodhya at around 12 noon," read a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s office.
The PM, who is the chief 'yajamana' (the person on whose behalf the priests perform the rituals) at the ceremony, would enter the Temple complex from the eastern gate.
PM Modi will interact with shramjeevis associated with the construction of Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Mandir. Modi will also visit the Kuber Tila, where the ancient Mandir of Bhagwan Shiv has been restored.

Here's the PM's itinerary for January 22:
10:25 am: PM Modi will arrive at Ayodhya Aiport
10:55 am: PM will reach Ram Janambhoomi premises by helicopter
11 am to 12 noon: PM will be inside Ram Janambhoomi premises. He may take a tour of the area, may do jaap.
Over 8,000 special invitees will be seated inside the premises before 'garbh griha' at that time. They have to reach premises by 10 am.
12:05 pm to 12:55 pm: — 'Pran pratishtha' ceremony will take place. The eyes of Ram Lalla idol to be opened and PM to put kajal (kohl) on it and then show a mirror to the idol.
There will be 'Pushp Varsha' (flower petals will be showered) on the temple by helicopters.
1 pm to 2 pm: Public speeches by PM Modi, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and UP CM Yogi Adityanath
2:10 pm: PM to worship at Shiv Mandir on Kuber Tila inside Ram Janambhoomi premises. A special ramp has been made for pilgrims to visit Kuber Tila and Shiv temple has been refurbished.
3:30 pm: PM expected to leave Ayodhya.

The Prime Minister had also presided over the ‘bhumi poojan’ of the Ram temple in Ayodhya in 2020.
He has been associated with the Ram Temple movement since 1990 and played a crucial role in managing the Rath Yatra of former Deputy Prime Minister LK Advani.
The construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya has been part of BJP's main election planks since its inception in 1980.
