After Rahul Gandhi called out External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar for his “damning silence" on the number of aircraft India lost under Operation Sindoor, the BJP on Tuesday said It is not surprising that the Congress leader is “speaking the language of Pakistan and its benefactors”.
In a post on X, BJP IT cell head Amit Malviya alleged that Gandhi did not congratulate Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the flawless Operation Sindoor.
“Instead, he repeatedly asks how many jets we lost—a question that has already been addressed in the DGMO briefings. Curiously, he hasn’t once inquired about how many Pakistani jets were shot down during the conflict, or how many were destroyed while parked in their hangars when Indian forces pounded Pakistani air bases,” said Malviya on X.
Earlier, the BJP leader described Gandhi as the “modern age Mir Jafar" who is helping Pakistan push its “false narrative" with his words.

“Shame on Rahul Gandhi. Once again, Pakistani media is weaponizing his social media posts to push a false narrative—this time, portraying a battle in which India clearly dominated the escalation matrix as something in their favour,” Malviya said on X.
According to Malviya, this is not a new thing when it comes to Gandhi. “This isn’t new. In the past as well, the Pakistani establishment has gleefully cited Rahul Gandhi’s statements in international forums to deflect attention from their own role in harbouring terrorists. His words repeatedly serve as cover for those who sponsor cross-border terrorism. At what point does political ambition give way to national responsibility? Rahul Gandhi is the modern age Mir Jafar,” he said.
Gandhi, on Monday once again reiterated his claims that India maintained silence over the loss of assets during Operation Sindoor, calling it a "crime" to have informed Pakistan beforehand, while citing remarks made by Minister of External Affairs S Jaishankar.
"EAM Jaishankar’s silence isn’t just telling — it’s damning. So I’ll ask again: How many Indian aircraft did we lose because Pakistan knew? This wasn’t a lapse. It was a crime. And the nation deserves the truth," the senior Congress leader tweeted today, referring to Jaishankar's earlier comment that India had informed the Pakistani military to stay out of New Delhi’s attack on terror launchpads.
