Karnataka Minister Priyank Kharge has accused major social media platforms—including X (formerly Twitter), Meta, YouTube India, and Facebook—of deliberately restricting content critical of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and the BJP government.

In a post on X, Kharge claimed that these platforms are limiting the visibility and reach of posts that criticize the ruling party. “This suppression not only undermines democratic discourse but also skews public perception by silencing dissenting voices,” he wrote.

Kharge further argued that such restrictions distort the democratic process by preventing citizens from accessing a diverse range of perspectives. He warned that the alleged bias of social media companies erodes public trust and called for greater transparency and accountability in content moderation practices.

The remarks have reignited concerns over digital censorship and political influence on social media platforms. However, the companies named in his allegations have yet to respond.
