Sakoli Assembly Election Results 2024 Updates: Congress's Nana Patole Back in the Lead After 13th Round of Counting

In a closely contested race, Nanabhau Falgunrao Patole of the Congress is leading again with 43,303 votes, narrowly ahead of BJP's Avinash Anandrao Brahmankar, who trails by 321 votes with 42,982 after the 13th round of counting.

After ten rounds of counting, Avinash Anandrao Brahmankar of the BJP takes a slim lead with 32,525 votes, ahead of Congress candidate Nanabhau Falgunrao Patole, who trails by 476 votes at 32,049.

After seven rounds of counting, Nana Patole of the Indian National Congress is leading in the Sakoli Assembly constituency with a margin of 22,194 votes, gaining 117 votes in the latest count. BJP’s Avinash Brahmankar is trailing with 22,077 votes, marking a decrease of 117 votes.

As per the Election Commission of India, after the first four rounds of counting, Nanabhau Falgunrao Patole of the Indian National Congress is maintaining a narrow lead in Sakoli, ahead by just 451 votes. Patole has gained 12,533 votes, while Avinash Anandrao Brahmankar of the Bharatiya Janata Party closely follows with 12,082 votes.

After the first two rounds of counting, Nanabhau Falgunrao Patole from the Indian National Congress is leading with 6,452 votes, a gain of 687 votes. Meanwhile, Avinash Anandrao Brahmankar of the Bharatiya Janata Party trails with 5,765 votes, reflecting a loss of 687 votes.

As per early trends, Nanabhau Falgunrao Patole of the Indian National Congress leads with 2886 votes (+344), while Avinash Anandrao Brahmankar of the Bharatiya Janata Party trails with 2542 votes (-344).

The Sakoli constituency is witnessing a gripping electoral battle between two prominent figures, Nana Patole and Avinash Brahmankar. Nana Patole, a four-time MLA and the Maharashtra Congress president, is a seasoned politician with a history of switching allegiances. Formerly with the BJP, Patole resigned from the party in 2017 over unresolved farmer issues. Since rejoining the Congress, he has solidified his position by reclaiming the Sakoli seat in 2019.

Avinash Anandrao Brahmankar, representing the BJP, is aiming to flip the constituency back to his party. Backed by the Mahayuti alliance, which includes BJP, Eknath Shinde's Shiv Sena, and Ajit Pawar's NCP faction, Brahmankar's campaign promises a strong contest against Patole.

In the 2014 Maharashtra Assembly Elections, BJP candidate Kashiwar Rajesh Lahanu secured victory in the Sakoli constituency with 80,902 votes (36.95% vote share). Congress candidate Sevakbhau Nirdhan Waghaye was the runner-up, garnering 55,413 votes (25.31% vote share).

The counting of votes for the Sakoli Assembly seat will begin at 8 AM today, with early trends expected to emerge by mid-morning. By noon, the results are likely to provide a clearer picture of whether Nana Patole can retain the seat for Congress or if Avinash Brahmankar will lead a BJP comeback.

Sakoli has a history of closely contested elections, reflecting its dynamic political landscape. In 2019, Nana Patole won with 41.63% of votes (95,208), narrowly defeating BJP’s Dr Parinay Fuke, who received 38.9% (88,968).

The gender ratio, now at 1,002 women per 1,000 men, marks an improvement from 976 in 2019.
