The Mumbai University has reopened the pre-admission registration link for undergraduate courses on its official website. A circular was released by the varsity on August 7 to inform students that the link will remain active till 6 pm on August 14.
According to a Hindustan Times report, the pre-admission registration link was reactivated to help candidates who could not apply by August 5 due to internet connectivity issues caused by incessant rains. Several students were also dispositioned by the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
A university spokesperson has said: “The university stands firm on its motto that no student should be deprived of education, and with the current situation, students have complained about not being able to apply for admission due to various reasons. These students can now complete the process.”
Notably, students who would register for admissions now will not be “eligible for entry into the upcoming second and third merit lists”. They will be eligible for admissions after August 21, once all the merit lists of the previous phase of admission registrations get published. Colleges affiliated to Mumbai University will be able to accommodate these students only if there are any vacancies after the third list.
Interested candidates can visit the MU website at mum.digitaluniversity.ac to seek details about the online pre-admission registration process.
